One of the last vocal projects for Goodbye The Band, DEMALGAMATION was based on a full-length screenplay, originally intended to be an album, and was released as a 6 track EP in August 2008. The story followed the trials of the wealthy Boxer family, who had obtained their wealth via a money tree planted in their backyard, and had gone to great lengths to shield their children from the potential negative effects of maturing in a privileged environment by raising them as a lower-middle class family. One daughter eventually realizes the deception, and, with help from her relationship with the sun, who can speak to her, rebels against the family. There is also a gang of mysterious, potentially metaphysical actors known as The Rebels who may be involved in a rival family's plot to destroy the Boxer family.

This release features some slight touch-ups done to the original six tracks in 2016 and 2017, as well as bonus tracks that were significantly altered in 2017. The original cover was an, ahem, reappropriation of a photograph of a boxer to reflect father Charlie Boxer's profession as a boxer, but a new cover was made in 2017 featuring a man playing arcade games inside a spleen to convey the slightly bizarre arcade- and synth-pop sound of the album, and may or may not be a hideous portrait of our misled lives.
